Best Bike Shorts for the Summer

Its no secret I love being comfortable but feeling like I look cute at the same time. I want to be able to feel super comfortable but be able to walk out of the house without looking like a complete jerk! So, since the summer get so hot and in the NYC area we are still in quarantine, bike shorts and tops will be my go to. Not only are they super comfortable but functional. As things start opening back up, I'm able to go from an outdoor workout class to grab brunch outside again with the girls!

Lets start with some good basic black bike shorts. For whatever reason I have a pair of Lulu's and a pair of Sweaty Betty ones. The Lululemon ones I have are just simple 6" Align shorts. They are really comfortable and can go with just about anything. Since Lulu is always coming out with new technology, I think the new material may be thinner. These are absolutely perfect for yoga or hanging around.

My absolutely favorite pair of simple black bike shorts are by Sweaty Betty. They are the slicker material so you can literally wear them doing any activity. I am not quite sure why I prefer this material when I exercise. Anyway, I wear these all the time, they are a bit longer than the Lululemon ones. They are the Contour 9" Workout Shorts and I highly recommend sizing down one size.

Fabletics overall has been really hit or miss for me. In the past I have ordered two pairs of bike shorts I havent loved and one I absolutely adore. Let's start with the bad. In my first ever Fabletics order I got the Mila High-Waisted Pocket Short 9" in black in a size small. I did love that these had pockets, I didn't love the way they cut into my waist and I thought the length looked awkward on my leg. Granted, thats just a personal preference. The second pair I ordered was with the Relief set (I wrote about this overall set in my Fabletics 4.0 Review) they are High Waisted 7" ribbed leggings. They look super super cute on the model online however I have a short torso. High waisted on these cold literally cover my boobs... It was not a cute look overall. Anyway, my fave leggings from Fabletics thus far have been from the preform set. They are called Mila High-Waisted Pocket Short 6", and I have them in an xs in the Meru color. These, I don't know how I lived without them. They are comfortable, a good length & have a pocket on the side. The material is great for relaxing and working out, the only activity I wouldn't do in them is a spin class (thats only because I am super picky).

Abercrombie & Fitch, you read that correctly. Abercrombie & Fitch from our low rise jeans, mini skirt days is back and has some really cute options now a days! These shorts are from last year in a size xs (I recommend sizing down one size). The material in my opinion is more for hanging out, there is a double layer situation happening in the legs. They unfortunately don't have the same pattern this year, but I did find the same style on sale for $20 in a moss green & burgundy.

ALO Yoga, ALO overall is a great clothing company. They have quite a few options for different materials and different cuts. As you know, I gravitate to more of the slick sweat wicking material. Here is a link to all of the ALO Yoga shorts they offer. I have the High Waist Snakeskin Vapor Short in Bone. These are definitely an investment but I think they are totally worth it. They offer a good amount of compression, are light weight, moisture wicking and have a good amount of stretch. They are comfortable for all levels of activity!

Let's talk tee shirts. I feel like since they are bike shorts I need an oversized shirt that covers my booty and hooha a bit more. Here are some of my fave tops that range from tanks to pullovers.

Overall, Im obsessed like many others with the bike short and tee trend! Let me know which ones are your faves!

Until next time,
