Homemade Meatballs

I grew up watching my mom make homemade meatballs all the time. It was something she just always whipped up so easily, some would go into dinner that night and the rest would go into the freezer for another time. Well, since we've been inside so much this year I wanted to get more into cooking!

Ive done a few fun new recipes and I wanted to start sharing! To make yummy meatballs you'll need the following:

  • Cutting board

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Small mixing bowl

  • Baking sheet

  • Knife

  • Measuring cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of meat (I prefer ground beef or turkey)

  • 1/2 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs (If you need to make your own breadcrumbs. Turn the oven to 250 and have two slices of bread bake for 30 mins. Be sure to finely chop it up!)

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley leaves

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion (or grated on the large holes of a box grater)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400.

  2. Combine the milk and breadcrumbs together in a small mixing bowl and set it aside. You'll use this later and it gives the fine breadcrumbs time to get nice and soggy.

  3. Add the egg to a large mixing bowl & whisk it. Add the salt, pepper, Parmesan, and parsley and mix together.

  4. Add in the meat to the bowl and mix with your hands.

  5. Slowly add the onions, garlic & soaked breadcrumbs. Continue mixing with your hands.

  6. Roll into 1" - 1.5" balls and place on baking sheet.

  7. Let the balls bake for about 30 mins.

Enjoy or freeze to save for later!
