Skincare - Quarantine Edition

Skincare I feel has been a huge push for everyone since the quarantine started. There is no real need to be wearing a ton of makeup so why not just take excellent care of your skin, I know I expect to come out of this with a kick ass bod and kickass skin!

Morning loves! Since I have been working out in the mornings I hop in the shower right after. Aside from using my favorite Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner & Dove Foaming body wash, I love my Ole Hendrickson The Clean Truth face wash.

I don't fully remember how I found Ole Hendrickson but I am beyond thrilled I did... This does a super nice job at making my face feel nice and clean. It also has vitamin C so not only is nice and brightening but also smells wonderful in the morning. Its a nice start to the day with a nice refreshing glow.

Try to remember to pat dry your face when you are done washing it, it helps prevent elasticity loss and reduces irritation. Once it's dry, I like to dab the Dr.Dennis Gross Vitamin C+ Eye Cream. I have naturally really dark circles under my eyes so anything that will help reduce that and brighten I will try. TO be honest, I don't actually think it's doing much but I'll keep using it until its empty. I'll line my top lashes with Grande Lash MD, I swear by this product to help lengthen and make the lashes fuller. I don't know if I'm putting these next three on in order or not but then I move into my serums & moisturizer.

For the moisturizer, I have been using the First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 for almost a year now. It is a bit on the pricier side but when it comes to my skin I want to be sure I am putting something that works with my skin on it. The 5-in-1 has SPF 30, I find it really important to protect your face from the sun, it is a proactive attempt to stay away from wrinkles and skin cancer. I end up putting one full pump into my fingers then adding in my Drunk Elephant products. These are also on the more expensive side but they are also great for you skin, use high quality ingredients and are considered "clean" beauty! In the mornings I do one full pump of the C-Firma Day Serum, it is set to brighten and firm skin. As well as a full pump of the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum. This product is to help hydrate & improve the texture and tone of skin.

Typically, I apply all of those products while I am still in my towel or bathrobe. I'll usually scroll through instagram or something while I wait for the product to fully dry. Once It's all dry, I'll maybe throw on some makeup depending on the day (click here to see my quarantine makeup routine).

When its time to unwind for the night I know washing my face is one of the first things I do. It depends on how much makeup I had on for the day as to what I actually use to wash my face. If I had mascara on, I like to use the Clinique take the day off balm. I was hesitant to start using balms because I didn't know much about them, but I really like that it actually gets rid of all the makeup, purifies the skin and from an eco-green perspective, you are washing your face with warm water and a washcloth, not using single use wipes. If I don't use the balm, I rotate between face washes, right now I happen to be using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating cleansing gel. I like that this doesn't strip the moisture out of my skin. Every other day I will use my Clarisonic Mia Smart to get rid of any excess dead skin.

Once I pat my face dry, I will start with the serums. I also use Drunk Elephant at night, so one squirt of the TLC night serum to brighten and a few drops of the Marula Face oil for anti aging & moisturizing. That gets rubbed all over my face and neck (upwards only)! I am in between night creams right now(I did try the OleHendrickson one but it made my face breakout). I am currently using the same one my mom uses and its under $20! It is the L'Oreal Revitalift intensive overnight, its nice and moisturizing with retinol. With that I'll add one or two drops of the light isle of paradise self tanning drops. I am very careful I get all over my face, neck, hairline and even my eyelids. The last and final piece is to add the Grande Lash MD to my top lashes and use the Laeige overnight lip mask in berry. The overnight lip mask is a total game changer. I wake up feeling refreshed every morning.

Once every week I try to do a mask, in quarantine its pretty easy to do this. Depending on how my face feels I'll either do a trusty Sephora Collection sheet mask, the freezing mask or one of the brightening masks. I also really like the Amazon brand called Fast Beauty. Here are my two favorites: Hydrating and the Detoxifying. If I feel my skin really needs to be purified and I'm breaking out, I'll use this Ole Hendrickson Cold Pore Plunge Mask, Im obsessed with it. Every three weeks I throw on Crest White Strips, I usually only leave them on for about 15 minutes, if I leave them on longer then my teeth get too sensitive.

That is my quarantine (and pretty much non quarantine routine as well). What are your favorite skincare tricks? Comment below!

Until next time,
