Skincare Routine Update!

Updated: Feb 19, 2021

As you know, I love love love some skincare & I will try just about anything to make it look like I'm not aging. Well, I've made some adjustments to what I've been doing, so here is my current routine!

Every morning, the first thing I do is wash my face. Unfortunately, they stopped making the foaming cleanser I loved so I switched it up and am now using Truth Juice by OleHenriksen! I like the citrusy smell to help wake me up and it does not dry out my skin. After that I will splash water on my face to wash it off then remove the rest of it with a warm wash cloth (never pulling skin). Ill end up patting my face dry with the wash cloth so it's all ready for the products to soak in and work their magic! Ill take a dab of the Banana Bright Eye Cream by OleHenriksen on my ring finger and massage it under my eyes. I swear it is the only thing that helps my dark under eye circles. It pretty much instantly reduces under eye circles, firms the area and lets concealer sit smoothly.

Next I take a pump of the F.A.B 5-in 1 Face Cream SPF 30 and a pump of the Potent-C™ Vitamin C Power Serum by Peter Thomas Roth into my fingertips and rub those all over my face and neck. I think its so important to use the daily SPF (even if you are inside most of the day in the winter) to make sure you are always protecting your skin. Ontop of that, the 5-in-1 has a ton of other great benefits. The Potent-C Serum is a sworn holy grail by Kyle Richards of RHOBH. This product has great anti aging, smoothing, skin tone evening qualities and lets face it, Vitamin C is amazing for the skin. Some mornings if I feel like I need an extra boost of hydration I'll add a pump of B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum and if I feel I need an extra boost I'll do a pump of the C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum, these are both great Drunk Elephant products.

It is really important to wait for the products to sink into your skin before you start applying any makeup. You want the skincare products to sink in to get the most out of them. Typically this is the point in the mornings where I'll go pour my cup of coffee or pop my contacts in and figure out what I am going to wear for the day. Once I feel like the products are all soaked up, I'll go toss on the makeup for the day.

I do feel because I haven't been commuting on the Subway everyday, my skin has been exposed to less toxins on a daily basis so its probably healthier overall. That doesn't stop me from fully washing my face every evening. I am one of those psychotic girls where no matter how drunk I am... i will always wash my face before going to bed, anyway I digress. Lets talk about what I've been slapping on my skin at night!

It totally depends on the day as to what I use to wash my face with, on a nightly basis I flip between a few standard cleanser as well as a specialty one once a week. Regardless, I start with a dab of the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm on my eyes to take all the mascara off in one sweep. On a normal night, I will either use:

- Find Your Balance™ Oil Control Cleanser, if my skin is feeling a bit oily from the day.

- Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser, if I am going to do another treatment after I wash my face.

- All-In-One Cleanser With Toner, on any normal night.

Honestly, all three of those are great, you really could use them on their own. I just happen to be crazy and have different options. My absolute favorite thing to wash my face with has been a silicone brush. I swear my skin has never felt so smooth on a regular basis, to clean them I just pop it in the dishwasher every week or two.

About once a week, I will do an extra little treatment to really get all the dead skin off, bring the gunk to the surface, it just feels good!

- Cold Pore Plunge Mask, this is one of my holy grail products. It gives an instant cooling sensation on your skin, smells amazing and brings all the gunk to the surface. I use this once a week after I wash my face and before I jump into the shower (it is a pain in the ass to wash off).

- Pore-Balance™ Facial Sauna Scrub, this gives a cooling then heated sensation as you massage it into your skin. It is like a mini facial in the shower. The beads deeply purify your pores, absorb excess oil and leave you with a great glow.

- Lemonade Soothing Scrub, this is a new product for me, exfoliating face scrub that instantly retexturizes, polishes and reduces the look of pores, with AHAs, lemon peel and sugar. I am not a huge fan of the smell but it leaves my face looking great!

Once I'm done with all of that and my face is patted dry (always pat). I start layering on my nightly potions. I have tried quite a few different under eye creams, I recently started using Uplifting Transformation™ Eye Gel and have no complaints so far! Just like the other eye cream, I dab it on and around the eye area with my ring finger. Once I take my attention away from those pesky under eye circles, I turn over to the rest of the oils/serums I use on a regular basis.

Next into the palm of my hand I pump in T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum, Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil and Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum. I end up patting that all over my face and pay special attention to my forehead. I end up using three fingers on each hand and slowly push from my brows up all across my forehead. Last but not least I take a dollop of the LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask and put that all over my face.

Now, does any of this work? I have no idea, I like to think it does something to help. What are your favorite skincare products?
